Welcome to my take on a bloody mary, no booze or unhealthy stuff included, and it still tastes great! It’s the only bloody mary that definitely won’t give you a hangover.

The first time I put garlic in a kale smoothie – the Joe Rogan recipe – I thought, “there have to be other ways garlic and kale could also taste good,” and that started me thinking of savory drinks. The bloody mary immediately came to mind, but then I quickly realized garlic wasn’t necessary. Welcome to my thought process!

This spicy tomato smoothie provides all the healthiest and tasties things about a bloody mary.
Ingredients
  • 1 pint grape tomatoes (or similar)
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 2 shakes celery salt
  • 1 tsp horseradish
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • a few shakes black pepper
  • 1 leaf kale
Instructions
  1. add all ingredients to blender
  2. blend
  3. adjust spices to taste
  4. pour and enjoy!

Hey guys, today I’m gonna show you how to make a kale bloody mary.

This is an experiment, never done this before. I’m going off a few different recipes that I’ve looked at, and it seems like everybody wants to make their bloody mary a little bit different.

I’m not a big bloody mary-drinker, but I do like spicy tomato kinda stuff, so I’m gonna go for it and see what happens.

Alright let’s get started. We’ve got some grape tomatoes, which are a little sweeter in flavor than regular, y’know, like, heirloom tomatoes?

We’ve got some lacinato kale, a little soy sauce, black pepper, horseradish, celery salt, a lemon and some ice water.

So, I think the first thing we’re gonna do is throw in these tomaters.

Let’s squeeze this lemon juice in there, couple shakes of this celery salt, a teaspoon of horseradish, a teaspoon of soy sauce, and a couple shakes of black pepper.

Let’s blend that up and see what the heck this tastes like. I’m hoping that it tastes sort of like a V-8, at this point, but we’re about to find out.

[tastes it] Hey, that’s delicious! How did that get delicious on the first try?

Now we’re gonna put in the kale. [tastes it] Mmmmmm. I think it needs a little more horseradish. Needs to be a little spicier. A little celery salt…

[tastes it] Pretty damn good, you guys… I’m gonna put in a little ice to give it a little chill, and I hope it doesn’t water it down too much.

[tastes it] That’s some good stuff. Okay, let’s pour this into a glass, and enjoy drinking the only bloody mary that will get rid of your hangover from last night’s bloody mary.
